Method

1️⃣ Preheat Your Oven

Preheat your oven to 180°C conventional.

2️⃣ Make the Date Mixture

In an oven-safe container, add the pitted dates, baking soda and boiling water.

Microwave for 30 seconds, then mash everything together with a fork until a paste forms.

A 20cm x 15cm x 7cm rectangular baking dish works well for this recipe.

3️⃣ Add the Wet Ingredients

Stir the milk and maple syrup into the date mixture until combined.

4️⃣ Add the Oats & Collagen

Add the rolled oats, Salted Caramel Collagen Peptides, cinnamon, salt, baking powder and your choc chips if using.

Mix everything together well.

5️⃣ Bake

Bake for 35–40 minutes, checking your oats at around the 30-minute mark.

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly.

6️⃣ Make That Sauce 🤎

Combine the Biscoff spread or nut butter with the milk and maple syrup in a small bowl.

If you're using Biscoff, you can leave out the extra maple syrup.

Poke a few holes across the top of your baked oats, then pour the sauce over so it covers the surface and soaks into the oats.

7️⃣ Slice & Enjoy

Slice into your preferred serving size and dig in.

For peak winter-breakfast territory, serve it warm or reheat it in the microwave and finish with a generous dollop of salted caramel or vanilla yoghurt.

When to Have It

Prep a batch ahead of time for an easy breakfast during the week, or serve it fresh from the oven when you’ve got a little more time in the morning.

With oats, dates and collagen protein in the mix, it’s a satisfying option to keep you going through to lunch.

FAQ About This Recipe

How much protein is in the recipe?

The full batch contains approximately 65g of protein based on the original recipe.

Your protein per serve will depend on whether you divide the baked oats into two, three or four portions.

Can I make these baked oats ahead of time?

Yep. Bake them ahead, portion them out and reheat when you’re ready to eat. Perfect for making mornings a little easier.

Can I use nut butter instead of Biscoff?

Absolutely. The sauce works with either. If using nut butter, add the tablespoon of maple syrup for some extra sweetness.
